When you’re packing up your life, the real discoveries happen in the forgotten corners. Drawers reveal their secrets: mystery keys that once opened something important, random nuts and bolts from long-dead furniture, the barrel of a pen that gave up the ghost years ago.
Each piece tells a story. That spare key your neighbor gave you “just in case.” The hardware from the bookshelf you swore you’d reassemble. The pen that wrote grocery lists and love notes.
To me, it’s archaeology. To the movers, it’s junk.
But here’s my random Sunday thought: can you actually recycle keys? Like, do they go in the scrap metal pile, or are they destined for landfill purgatory? Asking for a friend who definitely isn’t standing over a shoebox of mystery keys right now.
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve found while moving?
